Famous Squads
One very very popular cheerleading group is the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders. They started in the 1960's and was made up of male-female group call the CowBelles & Beaux. But now it is all females and ever since 2006 they have their own television series, "Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders: Making the Team", it aires on, Country Music Television (CMT).
Another well known cheerleading team are the Los Angeles Laker Cheerleaders or better known as "The Laker Girls". They are an all female National Basketball Association Cheerleading squad that performs and supports the Los Angeles Lakers basketball team in home matches. They hold adutions July of every year in the Stapels center. Each girl must be 104-130 Ibs.(they will consider 135 if the audition is good.) It is required that each girl auditioning comes prepared with her own routine and is taught two routines that each girl must perform for the current Laker Girls as well as some judges.
